Composer Choi, Jiyoun

Jiyoun CHOI, a composer originally from South Korea, started her musical studies with the piano. She studied composition at Seoul National University, and completed her studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon in Electroacoustic, Instrumental and Computer composition in the SONVS department, with S.Kang, P.Manoury, M.Stroppa, R.Pascal, and then in Electroacoustic and Computer Techniques with D.Lorrain. Thanks to her participation in several international composition competitions and festivals, her compositional interests are oriented towards the universe of new orchestration and sound imagination. More particularly, her thinking is oriented towards the meeting point between traditional instruments and new technologies.
