Franck Bedrossian

Composer Bedrossian, Franck

Franck BEDROSSIAN was born in Paris in 1971. After studying piano, he obtained the first prizes for composition and orchestration at the Paris CNR, as well as a first prize for analysis at the CNSMDP in Alain Louvier's class. In parallel, he studied composition with Alain Gaussin, and entered into Gérard Grisey' class, and then studied with Marco Stroppa at the CNSMDP. In October 2000, he composed Twist, for wind octet, in the context of an exchange with the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal. Among his recent works are IV, for string quartet, premiered in March 2001 by the 2e2m Ensemble, and Pleine Lune, a work for a choir of 50 children and 3 soloists, commissioned by the Orchestre National de Lyon. Since November 2001, Franck Bedrossian has been participating in the Composition and Computer Music course at IRCAM. In December 2001, he received an award from the Fondation Bleustein-Blanchet.
