Composer Yim, Jongwoo

After studying composition at the Seoul National University in Korea with S. Kang, Jongwoo YIM, born in Seoul, studied composition at the Rotterdam Conservatorium with K. de Vries and studied electroacoustic techniques at the SONOLOGY institute of the Hague Royal Conservatory in the Netherlands. Then, in France, he completed his studies in instrumental, electroacoustic, and computer composition at the SONVS department of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon, with P. Manoury, M. Stroppa et D. Lorrain, which allowed him to develop his own compositional language. His researches are directed not only towards classical composition, but also towards an artistic language adapted to new technologies, as demonstrated by his participation in different competitions and international composition festivals, and in IRCAM's Composition and Computer Music
