Francesco FILIDEI obtained his degree from the L.Cherubini de Florence Conservatory, where he received the First Prizes for Organ and Composition. At the Pescarese Musical Academy, he followed courses with Salvatore Sciarrino, Giacomo Manzoni, Sylvano Bussotti, and (for organ) with J. Guillou in Zurich. Teaching Assistant at the Ecole Normale Supérieure, and organist at the Pisa Dome (1993-1995), he has performed in concert in Italy and abroad, performing the whole of the works of Liszt, his own works for organ and piano (Ars Musica, Nuova Consonanza, Rai), as well as, on numerous occasions, the works of young Italian composers. In 1999 he was a finalist at the Frankfurt Opera House Opera Composition Competition. He studied Composition and Acoustics at the CNSMD de Paris. In 2000 he was selected to attend the Composition and Computer Music course at IRCAM.
