Luca ANTIGNANI was born in Italy in 1976. He has studied piano, composing, orchestra conducting, and electronic music. He obtained a degree in Composition at the Scuola Civica de Milan, from M. A. Solbiati's class (where he received the highest possible marks), and in 2001 obtained another Composition degree at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, studying under M. A. Corghi. He is presently taking the year-long course in Composition and Computer Music at IRCAM in Paris (2001-2002). L. Berio commissioned a piece from him for the 2004/2005 season of the Accademia Nazionale di S. Cecilia. He was selected to represent Europe at the Montreal Forum 2002 event, for which he received a commission from the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne. He has won numerous international prizes for composition, among which the Guido d'Arezzo, the Castello di Belveglio, the A. Casella, and the ICONS. His works have been performed for various contemporary music festivals : In Arezzo (1996), Milano (Scuola Civica, 1999), Reggio Emilia ("Di Nuovo Musica", 1999), Sienna (Accademia Chigiana, 2000 et 2001), Milano ("Pomeriggi Musicali" Symphony Orchestra, 2000 ; "Cantelli" Symphony Orchestra, 2001), Bacau (Roumania) ("Mihail Yora" Symphony Orchestra, 2000), Venice ("Festival della Biennale", "Divertimento" Ensemble, conducted by S. Gorli, 2000)… Some of his works have been recorded and broadcast by R.A.I (Radio Televisione Italiana). His scores are published by Suvini Zerboni Editions (Milano).
